Fitment and charging note
Verify your battery tray, charger profile, communication wiring, and total system current before installation.
Always confirm Group 27 tray fitment, cable clearance, terminal compatibility, charger compatibility, BMS communication requirements, and total system current before installation. Use a lithium-compatible 24V charger, inverter charger, converter, solar charge controller, or DC-to-DC charger programmed within Epoch’s recommended charging parameters. For parallel battery banks, use matched batteries of the same model, age, capacity, and state of charge, fully charge each one before connecting it into the bank, match their voltages within 0.5V, and follow Epoch’s installation guidelines; series wiring is not approved. Mount the battery upright (never on its side or upside down), place a DC-rated main fuse or breaker as close as practical to the positive terminal, and torque the terminals to 8–10 N·m (71–89 in-lb).
Frequently asked questions
Epoch 24V 60Ah Pro Series battery FAQs
Common technical questions about charging, Bluetooth monitoring, IP67 protection, wiring, and integration.
What are the recommended charging parameters for this 24V LiFePO4 battery?
For optimal performance and longevity, use a dedicated 24V LiFePO4 charger or charge controller. Epoch lists 28.4V–28.8V for bulk/absorption charging, 29.2V as the maximum charge voltage / BMS high-voltage cutoff, float disabled preferred or 26.6V–27.2V, 26.4V re-bulk, temperature compensation disabled, and equalization disabled. End absorption when current falls to C/20 (3A) or after 15 minutes, whichever comes first. Combined current from all charging sources must not exceed 60A per battery, and up to 30A is recommended; the Epoch 24V 15A Lithium Battery Charger is compatible, and a smaller charger simply takes longer. Avoid lead-acid chargers with desulfation or equalization modes.
Can I monitor the State of Charge (SOC) without a separate shunt?
Yes. The 24V 60Ah Pro Series features built-in Bluetooth monitoring through the free Epoch Pro app for iOS and Android. The app shows state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, and battery status and alerts without wiring a separate shunt, and it also sets up multi-battery networks and installs firmware updates over the air. Use the app data as a monitoring aid; for a more complete health check, the manual suggests a shunt-based battery monitor and load testing.
